DescriptionJob Description: Sigmatech, Inc. is seeking highly qualified and motivated Space Systems Analysis Summer Intern in support of Headquarters Space Force in Arlington, VA. This opportunity is geared towards those with a passion for space! A technical background in coding will be beneficial to support USSF/OCSO in providing support to analyses and assessments. The Summer Intern will work alongside current Sigmatech, Inc. employees to bolster any gaps they may have in their coding experience as well as gain experience in space and acquisition policy and program management. ResponsibilitiesThe Summer Intern will primarily support Headquarters Space Force. Working independently, or as part of a diverse multi-disciplined team, the Summer Intern will:
Provide expertise to USSF/OCSO to conduct and support analyses and assessments. This includes analyzing and assessing:
Space, terrestrial, maritime, air, and cyber capabilities
System commonality such as shared, distributed, or common ground infrastructures or shared, distributed on-orbit infrastructures
Enhancements, research and development efforts, and/or new technologies to improve system performance and/or utility trades
Commercialization of space initiatives
Capability gaps analysis
Trade studies
Current or emerging national policy for impacts on, and applicability to, space.
Synthesize technical data into presentable material for senior staff members.
Any other tasks closely associated with the performance of duties listed above.
Required ExperienceRequired Qualifications
Pursuing a Bachelors or Masters Degree in a related field.
Experience with Python, MATLAB, Git Bash, or GitLab.
Familiarity with Defense Space and National Security Space in the areas of strategy, requirements, capabilities, architectures, programs, acquisition, and operations.
Familiarity with civil, commercial, and international space capabilities.
Excellent organizational skills; ability to plan, track, and maintain due dates for multiple tasks and products central to the organizations business processes.
Exemplary writing and editing skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to adapt to rapidly changing work environments while maintaining flexibility and versatility.
Demonstrated proficiency with using Microsoft Office and other standard computer applications.
Experience fostering stable and productive working relationships that communicate expectations and promote cooperation.
Experience communicating effectively and concisely using a variety of styles and techniques appropriate to the audience.
Ability to work collaboratively with personnel at all levels of the customer organization to deliver results; strong networking, interpersonal, and customer service skills are key.
