(Direct Placement for Client)
SIGMADESIGN has collaborated with an electronics design and manufacturing company, seeking an experienced Test Technician to join their facility in Vancouver, WA. This company has an impressive range of electronic design, manufacturing, and test capabilities that allow them to serve a broad range of industries from consumer products to highly technical and regulated industries.

Primary Function:The Buyer is responsible for purchasing and negotiating materials, equipment, and supplies from vendors. Evaluate vendor quotes and services to determine preferred suppliers. Familiar with standard purchasing concepts, practices and procedures preferred within the electronics industryEssential Job Functions - Responsibilities:Purchasing:
  • Utilize quoting software tools as required.
  • Solicit and evaluate requests for quotes from suppliers.
  • Advanced ability to evaluate potential suppliers to determine if they meet specified requirements.
  • Negotiate best price for parts balanced against quality and production requirements.
  • Order items on approved purchase requisition forms and Kanban cards.
  • Knowledge of contract terms, Incoterms, Vendor Managed Inventory programs (VMI), Cap equipment requisition processing and Maintenance repair and Operations (MRO) processing.
  • Ability to negotiate contract terms with existing and new suppliers.
  • Maintain & build supplier relationships to secure better contracts and terms.
  • Implements purchase orders that comply with company requirements, customer flow down requirements, and applicable government regulations.
  • Ability to create accurate purchase orders utilizing the ERP System.
  • Knowledge of compliance requirements for documentation of product.
  • Utilize the ERP system to ensure on time delivery, order accuracy, minimize and communicate shortages with internal departments.
  • Provide complete, accurate and detailed quote information in a timely manner.
  • Utilize the Supplier qualification system to qualify and monitor supplier’s performance.
  • Strategically determine material availability, lead times and pricing, by understanding cost benefit analysis utilizing time value of money versus holding costs.
  • Understand the non -conforming material (NCM) process.
  • Knowledge of inventory issues, inventory adjustments, and inventory receipts.
Materials/Technical Knowledge
  • Contributes to risk management during the NPI process.
  • Knowledge of requirement codes
  • Attend ECN Meetings & execute assigned tasks as required.
BOM /Part Number Creation
  • Knowledge of specific industry terminology e.g. manufacturer part numbers, RoHS, ECN, FIFO, CAPA, RMA, NCM, ITAR, MSD and how they relate to the creation of BOM (s)
  • Ability to identify components that require incoming inspection
  • Responsible for part number maintenance in the ERP System
  • Responsible for the disposition of non- compliant and obsolete material
  • Ability to review the draft of the BOM’s are verified
Education and Experience: (Knowledge, skills, & abilities)
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university; and at least 3-5 years related purchasing experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as engineering drawings and specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to use the ERP system, Operating Systems, Office Suite, web-based tools, internet and email applications.
  • APICS Certified Preferred
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk and use hands to finger, handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Successfully pass a post-offer background check and drug screen.
Work Environment:OFFICE: Standard office environment with normal office related conditions. Occasionally may be required to travel as required to other facilities, clients or suppliers
