Siffrin is Hiring a Part Time Transportation Associate - Stark County Near Canton, OH

Position Summary
Provides safe and reliable transportation to persons served for day habilitation, community work sites, and contracted organizations.
Essential Functions
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.
Provide transportation to persons served in meeting their job responsibilities including to and from day centers, community jobs, or other site(s) designated in the ISP.
Assist with loading and unloading of passengers to include but not limited to: assisting getting in and out of the vehicle due to mobility, fastening seat belts, assisting people in the vehicle who use wheelchairs, strapping wheelchairs in, as well as shoulder and lap belts.
Provide behavior support to persons served that are having difficulty so that they can maintain appropriate social interaction with others, and refrain from infringing on their rights.
Maintain supervision levels while in the vehicle, as well as at pick up and drop off sites as stated in the ISP or ISP Revision.
Communicate the needs and concerns of persons served and/or transportation concerns through established procedures.
Present Siffrin and those served in a positive manner. This includes following a professional business casual dress code including khaki pants and tennis shoes. On Fridays, Transportation Professionals may wear jeans and a regular shirt that are in good repair and good taste. Tennis shoes must still be worn.
Support and encourage manners of dress, personal hygiene, behavior, and citizenship which will result in a quality and valued lifestyle.
Interact with persons served in a manner that denotes respect for personal integrity at all times.
Learn and utilize all special and/or adaptive equipment with proficiency for those served.
Implement agency policies & procedures and maintain compliance with all laws, codes, regulations, and standards at all times in the performance of duties.
Maintain and operate the agency vehicle as directed by your supervisor and in accordance with agency policy and applicable laws.
Complete all documentation during each shift according to agency procedures.
Ensure staff coverage is maintained at all times, including following agency policies & procedures for reporting off and finding coverage when needed.
Complete additional duties as request or assigned by the Transportation Manager, Manager of Community Integration or Director of Transportation and Community Integration.
Complete and maintain at least ten hours of ongoing training per year. Required agency training includes: CPR, First Aid, Mandt, Bloodborne Pathogens, Fire and Emergency Weather Training, and Individual Rights.
Follow the Siffrin Code of Ethics in the fulfillment of duties.
Physical and Environmental Requirements
Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds; weight may vary depending on the location.
Must be able to push wheelchairs, use Hoyer lifts, bend, twist, and pick up objects with body and hands.
Must be able to operate a vehicle in all weather conditions to ensure services are provided per the ISP or contract to include but not limited to work sites, community employment, or other site(s) designated in the ISP.
Qualifications:
A High School Diploma or GED is required.
Must be able to obtain a DOT physical.
Must meet agency policy with respect to a criminal background and motor vehicle record checks.
Must pass a drug screen and alcohol test prior to hire and randomly on an annual basis.
Schedule:
Will work the schedule assigned to them by their supervisor. Work schedule may change to meet the needs of persons served.
May be temporarily or permanently reassigned to other Siffrin locations as needed to meet the needs of the agency and those served.
Interaction:
The Manager of Transportation directly supervises the Transportation Professional.
In the absence of the Manager of Transportation, the Transportation Professional will be supervised by the Manager of Community Integration.
The Manager of Transportation and the Manager of Community Integration are both supervised by the Director of Transportation and Community Integration.
