About The Positions
Reporting to the Cinema Manager, the SIFF CINEMA DOWNTOWN LEADS are responsible for the successful management of each assigned cinema shift; including staff management, customer service, reporting & reconciliation, and staff & customer safety. This position supervises the Cinema Floor Staff and volunteers for their assigned cinema location each shift when other Cinema Management is not present.

Primary Supervision Responsibilities: SIFF Cinema Floor Staff (while on shift)
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide excellent customer service to all customers and guests
- Act as shift manager, overseeing all operations within the cinema space
- Ensure that SIFF’s operational procedures, customer service policies, and safety protocols are followed consistently by all staff and customers
- Act as the main escalation point for any customer service issues or staff incidents during assigned shifts
- Ensure staff arrive on-time, are given proper breaks, record their time correctly, and have all information and coaching needed to successfully complete their tasks
- Balance box office and concession tills, while investigating discrepancies
- Create and secure cash drops
- Record and report sales.
- Complete and send out Shift and Daily Cinema reports
- Ensure proper opening and closing of the cinema
- Turn on/off automated cinema projection equipment and perform basic adjustments, during shifts when a Projectionist is not scheduled
- Ensures quality cinema presentation is provided, when a Projectionist is not scheduled
- Ensure cinema is secured and alarm is set at the end of the night
- Take the lead in any emergency situations; following SIFF’s Safety & Emergency Protocols to ensure the safety of everyone within the cinema space. Responsible for properly reporting any safety or emergency incidents to Cinema Management
- Provide exceptional coaching, training and example for cinema staff
- Perform assigned equipment and building upkeep & cleaning duties including nightly popcorn machine cleaning
- Assist with supply and stock inventorying
- Assist with management, set up, and tear down of special events, as needed
- Other duties as assigned

Work Environment: This position will work onsite at SIFF Cinema Downtown, 100 4th Avenue, Seattle, WA during open hours, currently expected to be between 11am-11pm . All SIFF Cinema Downtown employees will be required to wear SIFF-branded clothing provided by SIFF while on shift.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, stand, walk and physically assist patrons when needed and lift up to 25 pounds. Qualifications
- 2 years excellent customer service experience
- 2 years of accurate cash handling experience
- 1 years working in a cinema
- 1 years experience as a team leader
- 1 years experience with ticketing and concessions point of sale software
- A friendly, and professional demeanor in interactions with customers and team
- Ability to multitask and think on your feet
- Familiarity with both Google Drive and Microsoft Office
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Current WA state Food worker card and WA MAST 12 Alcohol Server Permit, or ability to obtain them
- Demonstrated commitment to racial equity
Desired
- 1 years staff management experience
- 1 years experience with computers and POS systems
- Knowledge of and appreciation for independent cinema
