About This Position

Join our marketing and communications dream team for the 50th Seattle International Film Festival. We are a group of hard-working marketing pros with a passion for all things cinema. The Festival Marketing Copywriter will be responsible for crafting impactful narratives, promotional materials, and communication pieces that captivate audiences and drive attendance to our film festival.

Dates of Employment:
March 4–May 17, 2024
Position Type: Temporary Part-Time (20 hours/week)
Reports to: Associate Director of Digital Marketing
Compensation: $21.00/hour


Primary Roles and Responsibilities

Content Creation:
  • Develop captivating and persuasive copy for promotional materials
  • Create engaging and informative copy for the SIFF website, printed program, and other collateral
  • Assist with press releases to announce key events and special guests as needed
  • Help develop talking points for film screening and event introductions
Social Media and Digital Content:
  • Craft compelling, shareable content for social media platforms to generate excitement and buzz
  • Write copy for digital advertising campaigns, email newsletters, and other online channels
Collaboration with Design Team:
  • Work closely with graphic designers to ensure that written content complements visual elements for maximum impact
Brand Consistency:
  • Ensure consistent messaging and campaign tone across all written materials and platforms.


Qualifications

  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to meeting tight deadlines
  • Proven experience as a creative copywriter, preferably in the entertainment industry
  • A passion for storytelling and a flair for creating compelling and engaging copy across various channels
  • Excellent storytelling skills with the ability to tailor content to diverse audiences
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, be detail and deadline-oriented, and take initiative
  • Ability to collaborate with all areas of the organization, and to provide exceptional service both internally and externally

Work Environment
: Hybrid allowed. This temporary position can work onsite at our Seattle office (SIFF Film Center) or remotely, with schedule agreed upon with supervisor.
