Sierra Moon is Hiring a Jewelry Store Manager-Sierra Moon Near Auburn, CA

ABOUT US:

Shawn and Brad are a husband-and-wife entrepreneur team that have lived in Auburn since 2007 and are an integral part of the community. Having purchased Sierra Moon in the Spring of 2018, there is great reason to celebrate these two at the reins of this custom jewelry boutique.

Shawn, who is the Creative Director of Sierra Moon, previously worked as the Store Manager for the shop for five years. Before coming to Sierra Moon, she served tenure as the Art Gallery Manager with PlacerArts, a non-profit arts council located in Downtown Auburn. During that time, she won “Best Gallery” from KVIE (a PBS television station), a prestigious accolade for the Sacramento Region. She has served as a Community Council member for Placer Land Trust and board member for the Robalos Swim Team. She herself still currently swims where she’s competed in the Trans Tahoe Swim Relay several times. Shawn’s passion for jewelry goes back many generations and there’s never a day she doesn’t pinch herself that she gets to play in this world every day.

Brad received his bachelor’s degree from Chico State in Product Design. His career leading up to Sierra Moon, had him working as a scientific glassblower. He is a graduate of the 2021 Leadership Auburn class and currently serves as the President of the Old Town Auburn Business Association (OTABA). He additionally served previous terms as the Treasurer and Vice President. He’s been playing indoor soccer for over ten years and has enjoyed coaching both of his children’s soccer teams since they were young.

Together, Shawn and Brad bring artistry and a strong business acumen to a community they so deeply love and value. They hold very close to their heart the honor of working with client’s whose stories of heritage jewelry and new creations never cease to amaze them. Celebrating 45 years of business in 2023, Sierra Moon is going stronger than ever and has so many fun plans in its future!

Job Brief

The Store Manager of Sierra Moon oversees all operations and team members in all departments: Sales and Production. This role reports directly to the Store Owners. All shop issues involving clients, inventory, staffing or vendors will come through this one channel to the Owners.

CUSTOMER SERVICE SALES:

▪Complete store administration and ensure compliance of policies and procedures.

▪Daily, weekly, and monthly reviews of store’s current and goaled numbers.

▪Steps in at first recognition of distressed client and creates action plan.

▪Follows communication protocol for following-up with previous client issues.

▪Check-in with VIP clients when in shop and offer support, mid-process, to assist in sales closing.

▪Lead on all email and texting communications.

▪Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational training.

▪Identifies training needs and reports to Store Owner.

INVENTORY:

▪Reorders fast seller inventory from top performing vendors on a weekly basis.

▪Daily, oversees “Receiving” box activity and directs team with plan. Receives on own when necessary.

▪Works directly with Store Owner to buy new inventory.

▪Lead contact for all retail vendors.

▪Lead tracker for all in-house memo items.

▪Weekly merchandising review.

▪Alerts Store Owner to inventory needs larger than fast seller reordering and communicates when larger sums of new inventory are in for scheduled merchandsing with Owner.

▪Lead for prospective client consignment and processing new items.

CUSTOM REPAIR:

▪Works directly with Production Lead (PL) to guarantee timely project turnover.

▪Stands in the end audit position for completed Custom Projects.

▪Per Production Lead requests, communicates directly with clients when issues arise related to delayed production, price increases, and custom pricing.

▪Run weekly “Open Balances” report to find off-deadline/track jobs and alert PL. Uses report to communicate cash flow to Store Owner.

STAFFING:

▪Handle all staff requests, inquiries and issues with the guidance of Store Owner.

▪All employees report directly to this role, Sales and Production.

▪Approve all requested PTO via BamboHR software.

▪Create coverage plans during abnormal/ PTO staffing periods.

▪Use BambooHR to keep notes on relevant staffing issues or concerns.

CLIENTELING:

▪Lead on all Clientbook software related campaigns and correspondence.

▪Attend Quarterly check-in calls with Adam Pulsipher, Clientbook rep.

MARKETING:

▪Support Store Owner in event planning and execution.

▪Create Clientbook campaign concepts to support events.

▪Works directly with Social Media team to provide requested content of information.

▪Works directly with Store Owner on annual Marketing calendar.

▪Stays updated with Instagram and Facebook channels, several times per week.

▪Suggest concepts to increase store revenue and brand strength: sales, giveaways, ambassadors, web-based campaigns, content creation, buying trends, etc.

Schedule: Tuesday through Saturday, 9 am to 5:30 pm

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
