Job Summary
The Manufacturing Technical Writer is responsible for reading and interpretation of customer supplied 2-D drawings, sketches, CAD models and specifications and providing customer quotes using the data provided.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Cape Canaveral, Florida.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Generation of detailed work instructions, job travelers, and other planning documents for cable fabrication and electronic assemblies.
- Assist in the generation of customer quotes using E2-ERP system. This includes reading and interpretation of customer supplied 2-D drawings, sketches, CAD models and specifications.
- Generation of bill of materials from customer supplied engineering.
- Adhere to all Quality Management Systems standards and procedures
- Treat all team members with respect and dignity ensuring a collaborative culture is continually developed and maintained.

Required Education and Experience
- Five (5) years’ experience in an electronics/ avionics environment or other relevant industry experience.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, specifically fabrication practices required in the production of aerospace cables and electronics assemblies.
- Experience working with CAD models, applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.
- Knowledge of avionics production systems and practices, familiar with industry workmanship standards such as NASA 8739.4 and IPC 620.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 including Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams.

- Associates degree in appliable STEM discipline preferred.

- Ability to adequately consult with management, engineers, clients, vendors, personnel in other departments to support production.
- Able to determine the kinds of tools and equipment needed to support production.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and wire schematics.
- Flexibility and agility- be comfortable with an ever-changing and fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate with many different teams/individuals to reach a common goal by building mutual trust, respect, and cooperation maintaining positive and professional relationships, and contributing to a culture of inclusion
Physical Requirements
- Sedentary Work – occasionally exerting up to 10 pounds of force to carry, lift, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves being stationary most of the time, sometimes requiring moving about the work center on concrete surfaces.
- Computer Work – daily use of laptop, computer monitor screen, keyboard, and mouse, sometimes utilizing a headset with microphone & speakers.
Travel Requirement
Able to travel <10% of the time.
Shift/Schedule
This position is for the 1st shift generally working 7:00am-3:30pm, one 15 min break and 30 min unpaid lunch.
