Job Summary

The Inventory Kitting Coordinator is involved with all aspects of Inventory Inbound, Cycle Counting, and Outbound Shipments including quoting inbound & outbound shipments, managing freight claims by developing working knowledge of various parts, materials, and hardware for Sidus Space. The Inventory Kitting Coordinator is also responsible for assembly of racks, looking for parts, organizing supplies, and other tasks as directed by the manager. They are integral to the shipping and receiving processes of the Supply Chain Department and maintain strict material handling practices in accordance with good practice/procedures. The Inventory Kitting Coordinator will be monitoring shelf-life storage, maintaining proper rotation of stock, and performing periodic cycle counts.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Cape Canaveral, Florida. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Organize and kit standard hardware, raw material, purchased parts, machined details, and assemblies to support inventory control 
  • Perform picking function to create necessary kits of parts, material, and hardware as required and assuring that all parts are accounted for and available in kits. 
  • Verify receipt of purchased goods, locate product, maintain proper documentation with parts, process documentation, and complete all necessary transactions.
  • Maintain a computerized storeroom inventory through oversight and verification of stock issuances, receiving, reorder activity, and physical verification of stock quantities
  • Assist in the resolution of problems concerning control of inventory related to compliance with established requirements or specifications
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and workstations neat. Sweep, dust, and mop as necessary to keep inventory area clean. Wear proper safety equipment for shipping and receiving. 
  • Packaging, handling, and transportation of sensitive equipment and electronics.
  • Adhere to all Quality Management Systems standards and procedures.
  • Treat all team members with respect and dignity ensuring a collaborative culture is continually developed and maintained.
  • Other duties as assigned** 

Required Education and Experience

  • Five (5 ) years’ experience in inventory control, shipping and receiving, or other relevant industry experience.
  • Experience and understanding of inventory and kitting processes
  • ERP system experience (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 including Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams.

Desired Skills and Experience 

  • Familiarity with handling ESD sensitive hardware.
  • Commitment to providing the highest quality products and services that meet or exceed the requirements and expectations of our customer, actively pursuing opportunities for continual improvements of service quality.
  • Capability to operate a forklift and other related inventory equipment
  • Experience within the aerospace, aviation, or government fields
  • Ability to collaborate with many different teams/individuals to reach a common goal by building mutual trust, respect, and cooperation maintaining positive and professional relationships, and contributing to a culture of inclusion

 Physical Requirements 

  • Medium Work – occasionally exerting up to 50 pounds of force, frequently exerting up to 20 pounds of force, and consistently exerting up to 10 pounds of force to move objects.
  • Computer Work – daily use of laptop, computer monitor screen, keyboard, and mouse, sometimes utilizing a headset with microphone & speakers. 

Travel Requirement

Able to travel <10% of the time.

Shift/Schedule
 This position is for the day shift generally working 7:00am – 4:00pm.
