Overview

SUMMARY OF POSITION

This position is designed to train recent college graduates and / or entry level professionals on Shurtape Technologies’ (the company) products, systems, people, and unique culture. The program works by rotating the trainee through various departments over a period of twelve-eighteen months. The following departments may host the management trainees with the eventual goal of the trainee obtaining a full-time role within Operations Engineering following the program. 

Rotational assignments for trainees of any host track can include work in Automation Engineering, Process Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.

QUALIFICATIONS

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Recent college graduate with a BS in Engineering, Electrical or Mechanical preferred
  • Proven job skills obtained through meaningful internship or project experience
  • Proven leadership skills obtained through extracurricular activities during collegiate experience
  • Excellent communication (verbal and listening) and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent oral presentation skills a plus
  • Team oriented and creative. Ability to interact with all employees
  • Exhibits a high degree of professionalism
  • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook are required 
  • Works well under pressure and dealing with multiple responsibilities

PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Ability to work in front of a laptop or PC workstation for extended periods of time
  • Occasional standing, sitting, walking, and talking on the phone

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This is a fast-paced work environment with consistent pressure to complete duties as outlined above which requires ability to manage multiple projects at a detailed level and provide support to many internal departments in a fast-changing environment. Many duties listed above are time-sensitive and have strict deadlines for completion.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Gains an understanding of the products, systems and people within the assigned department. At the conclusion of the assignment the successful trainee should have a thorough understanding of how the department works and how it contributes to the company’s overall business.
  • Works under the direction of a partner or manager within the assigned rotation department, and is also supported by a mentor within the host track function.
  • Supports assigned department as necessary. Responsibilities can vary from project work to data analysis to administrative functions. Responsibilities should facilitate the understanding of the basic operations and functions. 
  • Assists other departments in production with respect to safety, quality and output.
  • Learn about and participate in the company culture through attending meetings, training and development sessions and getting involved.
