Overview

SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Electro-Mechanical Technician is responsible for setup, installation, troubleshooting, repair and testing of complex mechanical/electrical equipment including access control, automated machines, process controls, computer control systems, and HVAC control systems.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Capable of performing low-to-high voltage electrical work, laying out and wiring complex circuits with large numbers of connections, carrying out installations, repairs, and tests on virtually any production or plant equipment
  • Ability to read blueprints and design specifications, manufacturer drawings, architectural drawings
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, MSDS, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Proficient in the use of basic hand tools, power tools, volt/ohm/amp meters.
  • Possesses good mechanical/electrical/electronic aptitude
  • Must possess self-motivation, enthusiasm, positive attitude

 JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Associates degree in electrical or mechanical technology fields, or 3-5 years equivalent work experience
  • HVAC Certification
  • Vibration Analyst Certification

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Troubleshoot and repair general facilities related equipment such as lighting/receptacle circuits, doors and associated hardware, plumbing
  • Maintain access control system, including the replacement/creation of badges for employees and contractors
  • Perform small cosmetic repairs such as drywall, flooring, ceiling
  • Assists Corporate Facilities Manager and/or Project Managers in determining proper installation and/or repair procedures for mechanical, electrical and/or electronic equipment
  • Troubleshoot and identify issues with electrical circuits, control circuits, PLC’s
  • Analyzes engineering sketches, specifications, and related data and drawings to determine design factors such as size, shape, and arrangement of parts
  • Provides technical assistance to operations on proper operation of automated/control systems on new or modified equipment installations
  • Assists Corporate Engineering in planning existing equipment upgrades and new equipment specifications
  • Coordinate installations and repairs with outside contractors
  • Adheres to safe work practices and company policies
  • Reviews and accurately status reports for work-related activities
  • Maintains high standard of cleanliness and organization at job sites
