Shriners Children's is the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties medical center. We have an opportunity for a Full Time Speech Language Pathologist to join our team within our Plastics Department treating cleft lip and palate patients.
The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) performs accurate evaluations of feeding, velopharyngeal status as it relates to resonance, airflow and articulation, and overall communication skills, using standardized and non-standardized measures, taking into account anatomic and physiologic constraints of the vocal tract, the chronological age and the developmental level of the patients, on a consistent basis and in a timely manner. You will interpret pressure/flow testing, nasendoscopic evaluation, and perform multiview videofluoroscopic evaluation of velopharyngeal function for speech and swallow study.
