Job Overview:Shriners Children's Ohio has an opportunity for a Child Life Specialist. Join a team of professionals committed to improving children's lives. Hours: This full-time position is ten hour shifts working 4 days per week.
Responsibilities:- The Child Life Specialist is responsible to work with children, from infancy through adolescence, in a family centered care environment.
- This position provides services in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Position requires strong skills in child development, assessment and planning, psychosocial support, procedural support and preparation, group leadership, volunteer supervision and goal directed play.
This is not an all-inclusive list of this jobs responsibilities. The incumbent may be required to perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:Required:
- Bachelors degree in Child Life, Child Development or related field
- Graduation from an ACLP-endorsed child life academic program or successfully completed 10 relevant college courses as outlined by the ACLP
- Certified Child Life Specialist, or be eligible to sit for the certification exam
Completion of child life internship under the supervision of a certified CLS
Preferred:
- One years experience in a hospital child life program
