Shortt Dental, located in South Lyon, MI, is a team of dental professionals whose mission is to provide exceptional dental care for our patients. Our general dental office is seeking a skilled, organized, and experienced Dental Receptionist to join our modern and digital (paperless) dental practice. As the first point of contact for our dental office, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and administrative support. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a dental or medical office setting and possess strong organizational and communication skills. We are dedicated to giving our patients the very best care dentistry has to offer. We do this by continuing our education and keeping up with the latest developments.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Greet patients and visitors with a warm and friendly demeanor
- Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage the front desk
- Verify patient insurance coverage and collect necessary information
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using electronic medical record systems (e.g., Dentrix)
- Assist with billing and insurance claims processing
- Coordinate referrals to specialists as needed
- Follow HIPAA guidelines to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
- Manage office supplies inventory and order as necessary
- Assist with other administrative tasks as assigned
Candidate requirements:
- Previous experience working in a dental office or medical billing/receptionist role
- Excellent communication skills
- Friendly
- Team-oriented
- Familiarity with dental office systems and terminology is a plus
- Proficient in using electronic medical record systems (e.g., Dentrix)
- Strong administrative and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
Office Hours:
- Mondays to Thursdays, with some Fridays
- No weekends
