The Manager, IT Infrastructure and Operations will be responsible for establishing, managing, and maturing the overall infrastructure technology architecture, operations, deployment, roadmaps and strategy.

This role will provide consistent visibility to the IT team and business stakeholders. They will evaluate IT operations to industry standards, emerging technologies, best practices, and Shorr Packaging requirements. Provide the day-to-day operational leadership and additional “hands-on” support required to properly deliver and support information technology while adhering to agile project management principles, process, and approach.

The Manager, IT Infrastructure and Operations will lead the IT infrastructure and operations team in the design, selection, implementation, maintenance, support and enhancement of the IT Infrastructure. This includes managing and maintaining positive relationships with infrastructure and cloud vendors. In addition, this role will responsible the IT infrastructure budget from planning to monitoring annually.

Responsibilities:

Team and People Management

• Manage department goals and objectives including directly supervising the infrastructure team (network, cloud and system engineers) and the help desk team (support specialists).
• Provide leadership, vision, and direction for staff within the infrastructure and Private Cloud (Co-Lo) operations teams.

Infrastructure

• Manage overall infrastructure technology operations, deployment, roadmaps and strategy including:
  • Core network, cloud and on-premise infrastructure, WAN/circuits/switches, database management, end user devices, data centers, data storage, back- up solutions, voice and data communications networks and services, servers, telephonic and AV devices
  • Private Cloud – Co-Lo
  • Public Cloud – AWS, including operating model, costs and governance.
• Support ERP, WMS, and other enterprise applications from an underlying platform perspective.
• Ensure each site has regular IT audits for consistency and continuity from connectivity, infrastructure, and devices.
• Conduct regular CAPA/RCA (root cause analysis) for continuous improvement across infrastructure, applications, and service.
• Manage our private cloud (co-lo) infrastructure including compute, storage, network connectivity, architecture and change management
• Provide private cloud (co-lo) vendor management to accountabilities, SLA/SLO and QBRs.
• Manage cloud platforms (co-lo) migrations from an infrastructure level to public cloud or SaaS platforms, AWS preferred experience.
• Establish, maintain, and own Shorr’s disaster recovery plan as it relates to infrastructure and cloud operations to ensure ongoing business operations
• Support and maintain security best practice protocols as prescribed by security team
• Drive proactive operations mindset into the cloud team.

Help Desk Team

• Management of help desk operations and infrastructure partners using a continuous improvement mindset and approach.
• Establish Service Level Agreements/Objectives (SLA/SLO), performance measures and system availability.

Requirements:

• Minimum 10 years of IT Infrastructure experience required including Network & System Architecture
• Minimum 5 years of leadership responsibilities, including infrastructure, strategy, budgeting, and staffing.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
• Strong experience with private cloud (Co-Lo) and AWS, DevOps models, IT service models, vendor management, disaster recovery/business continuity
• Previous Help Desk support leadership experience preferred
• Agile environment experience
• Experience with site reliability engineering
• Budget planning and financial management, especially in terms of IT hardware and cloud governance
• Deep understanding of current and emerging I&O technologies and practices, and how other enterprises are employing them.
• Experience managing On-prem, Private Cloud (co-lo) and Cloud, VMWare, Firewalls and Switches
• Experience managing configuration of M365, Teams, SharePoint
