Shoreline Fruit is Hiring a Quality Technician - Day Shift Near Williamsburg, MI

Shoreline Fruit is the largest tart cherry producer in North America operating nearly 7000 acres of cherry orchards right here in Michigan, producing over 40 million pounds of cherries each year. Working at our production facility, you will be joining the team that processes the finest cherry products and other dried fruits available anywhere in the world. Day Shift: 6:50 a.m. 7:00 p.m. in a 4-days on/4-days off rotation (4 day vacation every week!).

Salary and Benefits: We offer good pay, great benefits, and cool incentives

  • Starting pay: $16- 17.50 per hour DOE
  • Health, Dental, and Vision insurances and Flexible Spending Accounts available after 60 days of employment
  • 401K w/company matching available after 6 months
  • Two weeks paid-time-off accrual starts at hire date and can be used after 60 days of employment
  • Voluntary overtime is available

Responsibilities: Our QA Techs conduct many different tests to determine the quality of our raw, bulk intermediate, and finished products.

  • Perform daily lab tests ensuring accuracy and timeliness, working with the Quality Department and team concerning any discrepancies.
  • Testing to include pH, sugar brix, allergen, ATP, water activity, and moisture testing on in-process and finished product.
  • Monitor all quality attributes of raw materials as established; including fruits, liquid sugar, syrup, and packaging materials.
  • Perform visual and analytical inspections of equipment prior to process starts and conduct as required during processing activities.
  • Follow all Food Safety, Plant Security and GMP policies.
  • Conduct all inspections as required per a variety of quality and company programs.
  • Perform various duties within the Quality Department upon request.

Physical Requirements: We are active and on the move during the shift.

  • May be on your feet a good portion of the 12 hour shift.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Safety: This position takes place in a lab within the processing facility. GMP includes hair/beard nets, ear plugs, safety glasses, and safety toe shoes.
