Position Summary

The Banquet Setup Supervisor will provide administrative, technical, and analytical support to the Director of Banquets and the Banquet Managers. The Banquet Setup Supervisor contributes to the planning, organization, and training necessary to achieve department objectives. They will assist Banquet leadership with insuring that all meetings and banquet functions are set up correctly and timely based on the information in the detail sheets and Banquet Event Orders.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure meeting rooms appearance are meeting and exceeding standards as well as maintaining compliance with all health and safety regulations at all times
• Direct and verify the proper set-up and break down of all function areas as required by banquet event orders
• Monitor the Banquet, Catering, and Meeting room facilities for any Housekeeping or Engineering needs and report deficiencies to appropriate department
• Check tables arrangements, glassware, chairs, staging, and linen needed for all events
• Prepare reports, detailing the function and comments from meeting planner(s)
• Work alongside setup crew, coaching & counseling when applicable
• Monitor inventories of all required materials and order as necessary
• Constant inspection and evaluation of banquet rooms, functions, serving and set staff performance
• Take ownership of Internal Guest morale
• Prepare assignments for staff
• Conduct pre-shift meetings
• Hold staff to the highest level of service expectations
• Perform additional duties and projects as assigned

Qualifications:

• Ability to speak, read, write and understand English
• Professional demeanor appropriate for a luxury environment
• Minimum three (3) years Banquet experience
• One (1) year Supervisory experience, preferably in the hospitality industry
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite including Word and Excel
• Must have working knowledge of point of sale systems
• Strong customer service experience, interpersonal, and communication skills are required
• Strong analytical, decision-making and problem- solving skills
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Ability to be flexible, adaptable and responsive to change
• Hotel opening experience highly desirable

Education:

• Associate, Bachelor’s and /or Culinary degree preferred
