Job Title: Associate Buyer

Reports to: Senior Buyer

As an Associate Buyer your responsibilities will include assisting the buying team in advancing the business to exceed sales and margin goals. This includes submitting and negotiating purchase orders with vendors, maintaining an accurate open to buy, tracking orders, reviewing existing brands for promotions and expansions, researching to find new vendors and product categories. The associate buyer will work with staff across departments to assist in forecasting the needs of the business and make purchasing decisions.

$18-$22 per hr

112 hours of PTO 8 Paid holidays

• High school diploma or GED
• Some college strongly preferred

• Critical thinking and negotiation skills
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
• Ability to use Google Sheets/Excel with ease
• Ability to use or willing to learn to use Trello
• Knowledge of ERP software or other appropriate purchasing software
• Professional written English is a MUST

• 1 years of experience in a purchasing role, preferred not required
• Past experience with team settings, deadlines, and self management

• Work as a part of a team towards margin and sales goals
• Identify new suppliers and manufacturers based on provided requirements
• Enter and maintain product data in inventory management software
• Create product listings on respective sales channel
• Submit purchase orders to vendors
• Research new products and vendors
• Update department scorecard and open to buy metrics on a weekly basis
• Ensure the accuracy of purchase orders in system and open to buy
• Support the buyer with any purchasing related tasks
• Ability to self manage, quick learner, and eagerness to succeed
• Other Duties as Assigned

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

Minimal walking, standing, and/or bending however this position may require you to go into the warehouse to deal with product returns.
