We are looking for an experienced Sheet Metal Mechanic to join our special projects team. You will fabricate, assemble, install, and repair new installs and retrofits for Commercial customers across the Knoxville area. You can say to your family and friends “I helped build that”. This is a diverse position where you work with both new builds and service. You will be one of the go-to people for Sheet Metal work.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

• Install complex commercial duct work in a wide variety of job settings.
• Pre-Assemble components of commercial duct work.
• Unload, move, and handle commercial-scale duct work.
• Properly finish and seal duct work.
• Work consistently at heights, from ladders, scaffolds, scissor lifts, roof, or boom lifts.
• Assist with the installation of commercial HVAC equipment and devices.
• Learn about and work with a wide variety of power tools and hand tools.
• Perform accurate measurements using tape measures and other precision devices.
• Complete classroom and home study, on time and to a high standard, with frequent practical skills and schoolwork knowledge testing.
• Learn to layout duct work to be installed.
• Install commercial ceiling diffusers (grilles), wall mount diffusers, and other air devices.

Experience, Training, and/or Certification:

• 5 or more years’ experience in Commercial/Industrial Sheet Metal.
• High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
• Candidates must be available to work overtime and weekends as needed on selected projects.
• This position will not be part of the on-call rotation for the Service Department.

• Work reaching above shoulders, crawling, squatting, kneeling, bending.
• Exercise fine motor control, with excellent hand-eye coordination.
