Shoals Technology Group is Hiring a Tax Director Near Portland, TN
- Coordinate the quarterly tax provision calculations and related tax impact on Shoals’ financial statements considering the complex up-C structure and the tax receivable agreement (TRA)
- Oversee the tax compliance (both income and sales tax) for the company
- Identify opportunities and risks related to state tax nexus issues
- Educate the leadership team regarding nexus triggers and exposure
- Develop a foundation for international expansion
- Create a “playbook” for entering new jurisdictions and exploring opportunities around future intellectual property.
- Capitalize on opportunities to utilize tax credits and incentives, including working with our advisors to claim the research and development credit
- Support the acquisition/integration of target entities from a tax perspective, including recommending the appropriate tax structure
- Contribute to the development of appropriate controls around various tax functions, including initiating appropriate checks and balances within the newly acquired entity
- Assist with the preparation of income tax provision under ASC 740, including gathering information, analyze and reconcile tax accounts, prepare journal entries
- Coordinate the information tax reporting (various 1099s) and advise on payroll tax matters
- Oversee the preparation of property tax filings in various states
- 10 years of relevant corporate tax experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Strong knowledge of partnership and corporate tax
- Advanced Excel skills
- CPA certification
