Overview

Shive-Hattery’s Quad Cities office has an immediate opening for an entry level Structural Design Technician. This is entry-level designer position that will work on small to moderately complex projects to create construction documents using Autodesk Revit (3D Modeling) under the full supervision and guidance of an engineer.

Qualifications:

• Have minimum of 1 year of education training and experience using Autodesk Revit, and be versed in special features of that program
• Able to work on moderately complex projects under general supervision
• Ability to produce construction documents, including 3D model generation and detailing
• Must have good attention to detail
• Computer literacy a must including Microsoft Office Suite
• Willing to collaborate with other team members and have good interpersonal skills
• Be able to interpret detailed markups from engineers and replicate them in Revit models and construction documents.
• Ability to manage time and workload effectively, which includes planning, organizing, and prioritizing work
• Experience with Revit importing/exporting with other modeling software (AutoCAD, Navisworks, etc.)
• Be willing to work some overtime
• Self-motivated and eager to learn new things and adapt to changing markets and software updates

Requirements

• Knowledge in drafting and detailing on a wide variety of projects and procedures for production of design development and construction documents. Training will be provided for these techniques and procedures related to this work.
• Provide REVIT drawing production support of projects in the structural discipline and work well with structural engineers
• Work in a team environment and on multidiscipline projects
• Effectively self manage time on multiple projects and multiple deadlines
