Shipping Pilot is Hiring a Warehouse Team Lead Near Strongsville, OH

The Warehouse Team Lead plays a crucial role in our operations by ensuring the efficient flow of goods through our warehouse facilities. Responsible for your team, you will be responsible for the production area that will support the receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping of products. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, exceptional organizational abilities, and a passion for optimizing processes to meet and exceed targets.

Daily Responsibilities

Leadership and Supervision:

  • Lead, motivate, and mentor a team of warehouse associates to achieve daily operational goals and performance targets.
  • Provide guidance, support, and training to team members to ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Process Optimization:
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains within the warehouse environment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement innovative solutions to streamline workflows and reduce operational costs.
  • Proactively address any issues or bottlenecks that may impact productivity or customer satisfaction
  • Inventory Management:
  • Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records through regular cycle counts, stock checks, and reconciliations. Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) to track inventory movement and locations.
  • Communication and Collaboration:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between warehouse staff and management, relaying relevant information, updates, and feedback.
  • Order Picking and Packing:
  • Fulfill customer orders by accurately picking items from inventory according to pick tickets or instructions. Pack orders securely and efficiently for shipment, ensuring products are protected during transit.
  • Housekeeping and Safety:
  • Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment at all times. Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents, injuries, or damage to equipment or inventory.
  • Assistance with Special Projects:
  • Collaborate with supervisors and Operations Manager on special projects, such as warehouse reorganizations, process improvements, or inventory optimization initiatives.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution center as a lead or supervisor
  • Familiarity with warehouse operations and procedures.
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership skills
  • Basic math skills and ability to accurately count and record inventory.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects and operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) safely.
  • Excellent organizational communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry objects, boxes, or materials weighing up to 50 pounds without risking injury.
  • Must be capable of spending extended periods walking and standing on the warehouse floor.
  • Good manual dexterity to handle tools, equipment, and small items. Ability to use a computer, scanner, or other electronic devices efficiently.
  • Physical Endurance: Demonstrated physical endurance to handle long hours and high-stress situations, ensuring sustained productivity and efficiency throughout the workday.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
