Head Start Teacher Assistant will be with children between the ages of 3 - 5 years old in a developmentally appropriate environment.

Salary / Hourly Rate offer will be based on both credentials and relevant experience.

Candidate must be fully vaccinated (Tdap/MMR/COVID) and be able to obtain background and medical clearance prior to starting.

Education Requirements for Head Start Teacher Assistants:

• Associate's Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education / Child Development (or non-related field) WITH 12 or more credits in Early Childhood Education/Child. Dev and have an Illinois Gateways ECE Credential Level 4 or higher.

OR

• CDA Certificate in Preschool & be enrolled towards an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Dev.

Position Requirements:

• Have proficient verbal and written communication skills and ability to tailor communication to different audiences.
• Have intermediate computer skills and the ability to learn and adapt to new technology.
• Provide quality, nurturing care to children enrolled in the program.
• Demonstrate skills to properly address developmental needs of children.
• Maintain a safe learning environment at all times in classroom, playground and common areas.
• Conduct and document developmental screenings and assessments of children.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $34,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year
