Job Overview:

The Financial Analyst (Exempt) plays a crucial role in maintaining the financial health and integrity of Shinyen’s assets. This position is responsible for analyzing historical financial data, preparing reports and providing insights in optimizing the company’s investments to maximize profit.

As the Financial Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in examining financial statements, assessing market trends, and assisting in budgeting and forecasting activities. Your expertise in financial analysis and commercial real estate market trends will be instrumental in facilitating seamless financial reporting and improving the financial performance of Shinyen’s assets.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Analysis:

  • Review and Evaluate historical and current financial data to understand the company’s financial condition. This includes but is not limited to all month-end (M/E), quarter-end (Q/E), and year-end (Y/E) closes of the General Ledgers.
  • Provide documentation of a detailed financial budget and monthly & quarterly financial models that forecast business outcomes and profits.
  • Measuring financial risk associated with management’s investment decisions.
  • Conduct financial analysis using Yardi data to support investment decisions, budgeting, and performance assessments.
  • Assist in preparation of weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial analysis schedules of actual versus budget variances.
  • Provide financial analysis support for department managers.
  • Develop ad hoc reports, special studies and financial analysis which drive the behavior of the business.
  • Identify commercial real estate and any other relevant industry-specific trends, variances, and opportunities for portfolio optimization.

Yardi Accounting:

  • Utilize Yardi software to oversee property accounting functions, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
  • Manage data entry, rent collections, accounts payable, and general ledger accounting using Yardi.

Financial Reporting:

  • Review financial statements, budgets, and cash flow reports from Yardi for Shin Yen Retail Property Management.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to management.
  • Analyze financial data to prepare accurate financial reports.
  • Review depreciation and amortization schedules and Fixed Assets in Yardi.
  • Oversee property tax payments.
  • Prepare consolidated financial statements for several entities
  • Scrutinize a range of financial statements from multiple properties, addressing various aspects including accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash flow, rent, etc.

Property Accounting:

  • Oversee property-level accounting processes, including rent collections, expense reconciliations, and CAM (Common Area Maintenance) accounting in Yardi.
  • Review CAM budgeting and CAM reconciliations as performed by your team.
  • Tax Compliance:
  • Coordinate tax reporting and compliance for Shin Yen Retail Property Management.
  • Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal tax regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. (MBA or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification preferred.)
  • At least 3 years of experience as a budget analyst, financial analyst, business accountant, or similar in a corporate or investment banking finance role.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial concepts.
  • Financial planning and analysis exposure (FP&A)
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis, and spreadsheet software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, financial modeling tools).
  • Experience with financial software systems (e.g., ERP systems, SAP, Oracle).
  • Familiarity with financial databases and tools for market research (e.g., Bloomberg, Capital IQ).
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Exceptional analytical skills, problem-solving, with attention to detail accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently if needed in a fast-paced environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $67,000.00 per year
