Position Description: SUMMARY
To produce sub-components and completed cables to meet the specification of the work order on small, medium, and large planetary cablers by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Basic knowledge of micrometers to verify all the dimensions specified on the cabling work order.
Make cable machine set-ups in accordance to manufacturing work orders.
Ensures that all machines are safe and in good working order, and report repairs needed.
Loads material into cabling machine after released by Inspection, and confirms that geometrical spacing, color code, reel tension, lay length and direction of the lay are correct. as specified by work order.
To request the approval of product by Inspection or Engineering Dept. as stated on the work order.
Must keep his/her work station and machines clean. *Good Housekeeping*
Load and unload reels from the planetary machines manually or with handling equipment.
Manual lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling required, see physical demand section.
Assist machine operators as needed.
Receive daily instructions from supervisor.
Ability to work with others within the department and company
Ability to appear for work on time and work flexible hours when needed.
Ability to interact effectively with co-workers.
Ability to understand and follow work instructions and manufacturing procedures.
Ability to accept constructive criticism.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High School Education or general education degree GED or up to one-month related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences. Basic understanding of the English language (read and write) for comprehension of the duties and responsibilities listed.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add and subtract numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using measurement, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple instructions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.*

The operator trainee needs to learn all tooling, dies and spool sizes required for each type of machine. The operator trainee needs to learn how to operate all cabling machines within the Dyna dept.
