Day Shift: Monday - Thursday 6am-430pm
Shields experienced growth in the fourth quarter of 2023 which has carried over into 2024 and we have an immediate opportunity for a CNC Lathe Machinist on the Day Shift. This team member will carry out a variety of tasks in a fast-paced, schedule-driven environment.
CNC Lathe Machinist (Levels 1-3) - CNC Lathe Machinist
- Ability to read and understand drawings
- Starts and observes machine operation
- Calculates and set controls to regulate machining factors
- Process offset changes unassisted
- Check parts using micrometers, calipers, and other measuring devices.
- Verify conformance of completed work
- Working on lathes such as Mori Seiki (NLX2500, NLX3000, NLX4000, NZX2000), Hitachi Seiki, Nakamura Tome, Haas TL-2, Manual Lathe.
Requirements:
- Extensive machine shop/metal working skills
- Possesses the ability to work with decimals
- Comfortable working with close tolerances (thousandths)
- Ability to set up your own jobs and run first part
- Ability to adjust programs if required
