Full Time: Monday to Friday: 10:00 am to 6:30 pm

SHIELDS’ mission is to develop, deliver and evaluate culturally sensitive, comprehensive service models that empower and advocate for high-risk families in South Los Angeles.

The Therapist provides crisis intervention, intake assessment, individual, family and group therapy to adults, children and families with a history of mental illness. This includes coordinating support services to assist clients with independent living. The Therapist is responsible for monitoring and maintaining documentation of client services within clients’ charts, ensuring compliance with agency policies and procedures, Department of Mental Health contract and other related agencies’ standards and guidelines.

Revelation

SHIELDS Revelation Dual Diagnosis program serves adolescents aged 12-20 who are experiencing both substance use and mental health disorders. Though the program accepts walk-in participants, most are referred directly from the Department of Probation. Revelation is certified by the California Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs (ADP) and is licensed to operate in Compton. Certification ID Number 190238DN. Certification Expiration Date 03/31/2023. Certified by CA Department of Health Care Services.

Requirements

Education/Experience:

• Master’s Degree-Registered or licensed with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences as an ACSW, AMFT, APCC, LMFT, LCSW or LPCC.
• Two years of experience working with individuals with a history of mental illness in a social service/mental health environment.
• Current California driver’s license, valid car insurance and registration.
• DMH documentation and EXYM experience a plus.
• COVID-19 vaccination required. May request medical or religious exemption if applicable.
