Job Description:

The environmental technician will work in all locations throughout:

  • Westchester and Putnam Counties, New York,
  • Connecticut,
  • and some parts of Massachusetts.

It is their responsibility to set up, track, and pick up radon testing units as part of real estate transactions, conduct mold testing and take water samples in various homes and businesses, sewer scoping, and other ancillary services. Training and examinations will be provided prior to conducting radon, mold, and water testing. Use of a computer will be required to check company-related emails and programs such as Microsoft Excel and Word. Professional communication with inspectors, office staff, realtors and homeowners are a must.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Learn about Sherwood Inspection Services, LLC services.
  • Track radon devices.
  • Set radon devices for testing.
  • Coordinate with realtors and homeowners to set up retrieval of radon units.
  • Sewer scope inspections.
  • Take samples of mold and mail overnight via FedEx.
  • Take water for testing to laboratory.
  • Write reports for radon and mold results.
  • Availability to work weekdays, weekday evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions.
  • Team-first attitude.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Ability to retain technical information.
  • Must have reliable transportation and valid driver’s license & insurance.
  • Excellent driving record.
  • Must have reliable cell phone with texting and calling.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent verbal & written skills.
  • Excellent listening skills.
  • Must be comfortable with driving and working on the road all day.
