The Harbor Unit is a 17-bed unit on our Baltimore/Washington campus, in Howard County, that serves adults 18 and older with a wide variety of psychiatric diagnoses, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and psychotic disorders. The inpatient treatment focus is on crisis stabilization and medication management by a psychiatrist, with an average length of stay of between five and 10 days.

As a Social Worker you will:

• Perform a full range of clinical social work services to assigned patients. 
• Interview patients and families to perform admission intake functions or provide preadmission screening as needed.
• Develop treatment plans and monitor and evaluate patient progress.
• Conduct individual, family, and group therapy sessions for patients and their families in order to assist in resolving personal and environmental problems that prevent them from achieving their highest level of psychosocial functioning.
• Participate as a member of the treatment team and develop and assists in the implementation of discharge and aftercare plans.

Requires:

• Master's degree in Social Work from a school accredited by the Council of Social Work Education and possession of a Maryland State Social Work license (LMSW or LCSW-C) or Professional Counseling license (LGPC or LCPC)
• Previous mental health experience preferred.
• LMSW candidates are required to receive 144 hours of supervision provided by a board-approved supervisor and participate in a minimum of 3 hours of face-to-face supervision per month with supervisor. Will be expected to apply and sit for the LCSW-C license within 2-3 years of accepting LMSW role.
