Sheppard Pratt School - Hunt Valley is a year round, non-graded special education program that provides educational services to students ages five to 21 with complex intellectual and behavioral disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder and other related disorders.

The Sheppard Pratt School- Glyndon is a nonpublic, year round special education day school serving children and young adults (up to age 21) with primarily emotional and behavioral disabilities and autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Our programs provide a supportive and structured environment integrating specialized academic instruction, counseling, transition services, and behavioral modification specific to each student population.

As a School Nurse you will:

• Be responsible for assessing, planning, organizing, administering, documenting, and evaluating student nursing care geared to emotionally disturbed and/or autistic children and adolescents, in accordance with Individual Education Plan (I.E.P.) and team treatment plan
• Administer medical treatment as prescribed
• Teach and provide psychosocial support for students
• Administer influenza shots and provides other employee health nursing services to school staff as needed
• Assist teaching/classroom staff as needed

Requires:

• Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Maryland at the time of appointment and continuously throughout tenure (or must have license by time of hire).
• At least 1 year of related experience working with children or adolescents. Previous experience in a school setting and/or with individuals with primarily emotional and behavioral disabilities and autism spectrum disorder (ASD) strongly preferred.
• AHA CPR required before first day of employment
