The Baltimore City Outpatient Mental Health Center is a program of Sheppard Pratt providing outpatient mental health treatment to adults and children living in Baltimore city and the surrounding area. The Director is responsible for the day-to-day management of staff, clinic operations, clinical care, and the financial objectives of the clinic. Will perform direct clinical services for up to 50% of their time.
The Director position exhibits strong leadership, crisis management, entrepreneurial and marketing skills in the management and growth of the program. This leader develops and manages program budgets to ensure financial growth, supervises professional treatment teams and program support staff, and ensures efficient, effective operations. The director handles client complaints, staff onboarding, weekly and monthly operational tasks, and grant funded initiatives.
The director has oversight over clinical and administrative staff and is responsible for leading and training to ensure excellent clinical care, customer services, low no show rates and compliance with all documentation requirements, CARF regulations and business workflows. The role includes ensuring compliance with the requirements of licensing, regulatory, and accreditation bodies.
The program is a member of the Community Treatment service line and coordinates workflows with other outpatient clinics. A key responsibility involves standardization of operations and change management across the service line.
The ideal candidate is able to function in a busy environment with grace and humor, lead expectations for high quality care for clients and bring experience with cultural competence, fiscal management, people skills to build relationships with internal Sheppard staff and external Baltimore services and organizations. The leader will have experience addressing mental health care for diverse populations in an urban setting.
Position requires a master’s degree in Mental Health, Health Service or Health Administration and active Maryland mental health professional license at time of appointment, including LCSW-C, or LCPC or Psychology.
