This recently renovated, state-of-the-art inpatient unit is comprised of 14 adult beds and 6 adolescent beds; the bed capacity provides a unique opportunity to lead personalized care and supports evidenced-based practice. There is also a flourishing partial hospital program with dedicated, stable staff delivering therapy and day programming for both adolescents and adults. The medical director has a dyadic relationship with the executive director and oversees the service line, which includes the support and development of advanced practice nursing professionals. This role combines the charm of community hospital work with recognized national leadership in behavioral health care. 

The position is both an administrative and clinical position. The standard caseload expectation for Sheppard Pratt providers is 10 patients per day per full time provider. This is a flexible position with the opportunity for both onsite and remote work, affording the opportunity for work/life balance with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote work.

The ideal candidate will have experience and expertise managing acute psychiatry care services, will be sensitive to the needs of hospital medical staff, and will have the ability to focus on both quality and continuity of care.

Requirements:

• Current license to practice in Maryland at the time of appointment
• Board certification
