Job Summary:Responsible for preventive and demand maintenance and repair of the hybrid fiber coax (HFC) or fiber to the home (FTTH) broadband network including its associated equipment in accordance with operational standards and the company’s policy. Thisincludes maintaining or improving system performance standards.Environmental Requirements:Factors affecting environmental conditions will vary depending on the assigned workarea and task.• Ability to climb ladders and/or utility poles and work in in high places• Ability to work in small places (such as crawl spaces and attics)• Ability to work outdoors and in extreme weather conditions and varying topographic, wet and dry locations.• Up to 25% daily travel time may be required.• Lifts and carries loads of 70 lbs. or more, works in confined spaces such as crawl spaces or attics, works while standing 50 -70% of the time and performs work near power lines and electricity.Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.Experience Level: 6-9 years of maintenance experience, Senior Master Tech Certification or equivalent industry certifications/experience.Knowledge:Skills: Telecommunications concepts, CATV, and coaxial transport systems, electricity and electronics. Troubleshooting skills in CATV and Telco systems using experience and test equipment.Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with the public and staff as well as 3rd party vendors and other utilities.
