Shenandoah Medical Center is Hiring a Financial Analyst/Accountant Near Shenandoah, IA

1. Provides support in the areas of financial analysis, reporting and planning for Shenandoah Medical Center, with an emphasis on assigned financial areas.

  • Assists in the preparation of analytical reviews of financial activity which is based on a sound financial analysis, clear and intricate understanding of the data sets. available in the various data systems and operational insight in close cooperation with the affected operational personnel.
  • Performs statistical, cost and financial analysis of data extracted from various internal and client sources.
  • Prepares reports based on findings, including health care costs, provider contracts, debt capacity, revenue and profitability.
  • Works with large amounts of raw data and organizes, analyses, and reports based on internal management and end client needs.
  • Performs special projects which include research, forecasting and ad hoc analysis.
  • Evaluates analysis outcomes and constructs client status reports based on findings.
  • Reviews financial statements in order to perform client initiative outcome measurement and forecasting.
  • Reviews patient billing statements, accounts receivable data, claim denial data in order to support revenue cycle analytics and process improvement engagements.
  • Manage multiple concurrent engagements with varying team members and deadlines.
  • Interface positively and appropriately with client personnel and other team members.

2. The Grant Writer will research, write, format, and submit compelling, high-quality grant proposals to funding agencies (federal, state, and private foundations) while applying knowledge of fundraising methods and plans to reach goals.

  • Identify and research potential funding opportunities.
  • Interpret and understand grant application guidelines and requirements.
  • Write, edit, and proofread grant proposals.
  • Develop budgets for grant applications.
  • Collaborate with program and finance staff to gather information.
  • Ensure grant applications adhere to the values and objectives of the organization.
  • Track and document submissions, including the dates sent, funding source, and outcome.
  • Follow up on applications and provide additional information if requested.
  • Maintain a comprehensive calendar of grant deadlines.
  • Write reports to funders and update them on the progress of funded projects.
  • Cultivate relationships with potential funders, including foundations, government agencies, and corporations.
  • Attend Donor breakfasts and Foundation Board meetings on a monthly basis.
  • Assist with Foundation with events and other projects. 

 3. Problem-solves and makes decisions within areas of accountability by using a well-defined approach to ensure effective and efficient patient care.
