*This position is for the purposes of support to the existing nursing staff of the Center. The duties of the position are restricted to the specific duties as listed below and no physical contact with the resident is allowed.

  • Make unoccupied beds; straighten rooms, bedside stands, closets and/or drawers for residents. 

  • Pass clean linens and put away resident laundry. 

  • Pass water to residents capable of having water at their bedside.

  • Stock supplies to resident rooms and assist caregivers with obtaining necessary supplies. 

  • Distribute linens and set tables prior to meals. 

  • Place clothing protectors, napkins and tableware. 

  • Fill water pitchers and open milk for independent residents. 

  • Provide general clean-up of spills during mealtime. 

  • Serve food items to tables or assist staff as needed in setting up trays for residents. 

  • Pick up trays and food items from dining area and return to carts after meals. 

  • Deliver dirty carts to the Dietary Department. 

  • Read to residents and write cards or letters with residents requesting assistance.

  • Assist the Life Enrichment Department in gathering residents for activities and may transport resident to/from activity. 

  • Assist Life Enrichment staff with the activity, but may have no physical contact with the resident. Clean and/or straighten areas in the facility before and after an activity.

  • Good interpersonal relation and communication skills. Knowledge of all Center Safety Protocols as it relates to the position.

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.

  • This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift or move objects and patients weighing over 50 pounds.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

  • Specific hearing abilities required by this job include, hearing conversation in noisy and quiet environments, locating a sound source and differentiating among non-speech sounds, communicating through speech. Ability to adapt to changes in daily work hour and schedule. Risk of blood borne pathogen exposure is considered high.
