Assists in preparing food and beverage items as directed by the Cook, while adhering to policies and procedures including, but not limited to: portion control, quality control, proper food handling and sanitation standards.
Sets up and serves meals to all residents as assigned.
Prepares and dishes up salads, desserts and nourishments according to direction of supervisor(s).
Assists in the preparation and service of food for meetings, activities or special events as directed.
Maintains efficient cleanliness of dining areas after meal service is complete.
Responsible for keeping resident diet cards and kardex updated with physician orders, dietitian recommendations and resident food preferences as directed by supervisor.
Responsible for accurately updating the nourishment/supplement lists for residents as directed by supervisor.
Demonstrates the ability to mentor new employees and assist them in gaining the skills to complete their job duties.
Cleans and sanitizes all areas in the kitchen including floors, equipment, storage, dish and any other areas according to cleaning schedules and as directed.
Receives and stores food and supplies as assigned.
Works in a safe manner to prevent harm to self, other personnel, and equipment.
Actively participates in departmental in-service training, online training, and other training as requested or required by your supervisor.
Performs other varied duties/responsibilities as per facility need and as directed.
High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
One or more years of experience with large scale commercial cooking and baking.
Ability to understand and effectively carry out oral and written instructions.
Ability to carry out assigned duties within the parameters and time constraints established for the job.
Ability to understand and comply with federal, state and facility health care and safety regulatory guidelines.
Possesses the ability to communicate effectively.
