Purpose of this position
The purpose of this position is to implement and maintain effective, efficient systems to operate the dietary department and provide food service to residents in a cost-effective, efficient manner to safely meet residents needs in compliance with Federal, State and local requirements. Must be committed to person-centered care by embracing the facilitys goal of person-centered care by demonstrating and being supportive of individual resident choice and controlled resident-preferred routines in all aspect of daily living.

Qualifications
High School graduate or GED
Certificate Dietary Manager - CDM
Meet all health and educational requirements by law.
Completion of a dietary managers course and food safety course approved by the State.
Member of Dietary Managers Association where required by State regulations.
Ability to read and write, speak and understand English.
Ability to relate positively, effectively and appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers and other facility staff.
Ability to withstand sudden temperature changes from the heat of the kitchen or the cold of the freezer.
Ability to taste and smell food to determine quality and palatability.
Ability to handle and manipulate equipment in supervising, demonstrating and assisting in food preparation and serving.
Supervisory experience and institutional kitchen experience.
