SUMMARY
The Facilities Technician performs basic repairs and routine preventative maintenance in both an office and GMP setting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on building equipment and GMP systems (stand-by generators, air compressors and holding tanks, deionized water manifold, sprinkler system, fire extinguishers and lighting checks).
Perform basic mechanical repairs (replace HVAC belts, vents and filters; assist with production equipment repairs, assist with emergency repairs).
Perform basic plumbing repairs (replace flush valves, vacuum jackets and faucets. Repair clogged drains, diagnose leaks and assist with emergency repairs).
Perform basic building repairs (drywall repairs, door frames, hinges and closers, ceiling grid and ceiling tiles, light bulbs and ceiling vents, minor roof patching and repair).
Maintain scheduled painting schedule
Support the general business needs of GMP operations as related to maintenance and facilities-related activities.

The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with arms and hands; and climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift, move or carry up to 25 pounds, frequently lift, move or carry up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift move or carry up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
QUALIFICATIONS
Candidate should be proficient using hand tools and most power tools. The ability to read elementary blueprints and equipment schematics. The ability to read and comprehend work instructions, procedures and equipment manuals. The ability to perform basic math. General computer skills. The ability to work independently or part of a small team with an emphasis on time management and productivity.
EDUCATION
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); vocational/technical trade school preferred. 3-5 years of previous maintenance experience preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. To prevent injury in this environment all safety regulations must be followed at all times.
