Essential Responsibilities:

• Attract new mortgage leads through self-sourcing efforts from various channels including referral sources, networking, and marketing efforts. More than 50% of time will be spent outside the branch office in this capacity.
• Attend local networking events, participate in local events either individually or in connection with peers, retail banking or other teams as opportunities become available.
• Build and maintain relationships with real estate agents, builders, and other referral sources to foster a steady pipeline of mortgage referrals.
• Meet with applicants to conduct a thorough financial assessments and analysis of applicants' creditworthiness to determine their eligibility for mortgage loans.
• Guide applicants through the mortgage application process, providing clear explanations of available products, terms, and requirements. 
• Collaborate with wholesale lenders' account executive, processors, underwriters, and other teams to ensure timely and accurate processing of mortgage applications.

 Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration or related field preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in mortgage brokering and/or retail mortgage lending, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
• Active mortgage NMLS registration

 Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly.
• Proven track record of building and nurturing strong client/member relationships.
• Demonstrated understanding of lending principles, regulations, and credit analysis.
• Thorough working knowledge of secondary mortgage market and underwriting guidelines such as FNMA, FRMC and Government programs.
• Requires the ability to work before and after normal scheduled work hours.
• Maintains an in-depth knowledge of credit union's products and services.

Physical Demands

• Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods.
• Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds
• Work requires the ability to speak and hear on a consistent basis.
• Communicating with others to exchange information via voice, email, teams etc.
• Heavy use of computer. Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
