The Sharon at SouthPark is a continuing care retirement community for senior residents located near the heart of SouthPark. We are a non-profit long term care facility that offers independent living, assisted living, and skilled nursing care. At The Sharon at SouthPark our team member's number one responsibility is to deliver compassionate resident care every time!

The campus shuttle driver will shuttle residents around campus, carry a cell phone and picks up residents by request, and assists with deliveries of packages and meals when needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Represents the company in a positive manner while creating an environment that fosters respect and courtesy for residents, employees, vendors and professional partners alike. Works within the company programs to promote safety and the well-being of all residents and employees.
• Upholds the company's Mission Statement.
• Maintains HIPAA standards in regards to all medical or healthcare information pertaining to residents and employees as confidential.
• Schedules appropriate routes, parking, etc. prior to departure.
• Ensures van is clean and gassed prior to trips.
• Acquires and maintains knowledge of all safety procedures pertaining to the medical van. Utilizes knowledge in times of emergency, breakdowns or accidents.
• Assists residents with entering and exiting the van. In addition, assistance with any items they bring on board may be required such as a walker, bag, package, etc.
• Reports needs or concerns of residents and any issues with the vehicle to the Director of VWB immediately.
• Reports any driving violation committed during working hours immediately to Director of VWB immediately.
• Part-Time Medical Driver assists Full-Time Medical Driver with resident appointments. Works as part of a team.
• Assists with scheduling, billing, and driving.
• Communicates with residents, staff, families and caregivers to coordinate all aspects of the transportation requests.
• Assists with gassing vehicles and setting up routine vehicle maintenance in coordination with the facilities department.

JOB TYPE

Part-time Medical Transportation Driver assists the Full-time Driver with meeting the medical transportation needs of the residents. Schedule: Monday-Wednesday Dayshift 8:30am-5:00pm

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE

High School diploma or equivalent
Medical Transportation Experience Preferred
Valid NC driver's license and a clean driving record

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Climb up to two flights of stairs occasionally.
Lift objects of 25 pounds or less over the head.
Move objects of 40 pounds or less.
Sit or remain standing for extended periods.
Drive lengthy distances as required.
Respond to medical emergencies, if necessary.
Assist with resident evacuations, if necessary.
