The Resale Store Donation Associate is a representative who acts as a hospitable greeter to members of our community who arrive for donor drop-off at our donation doors. As the donors “first introduction” for their giving to our store, Donation Associates project a warm, helpful approach while assisting to retrieve items from donor vehicles and provide them with our charity receipt. Some items may be under review prior to its acceptance; Donation Associates comfortably communicate with donors & timely approve or deny offerings according to our policy & procedures. This position is 20 hours per week including a weekend rotation schedule.

• Accepting & sorting raw donations, routing sorted items to area processing locations including research for e-commerce, preparation for cleaning, recycling, and waste.
• Maintains a safe and clean store environment including shift upkeep of station (table cleaning, vacuuming, emptying garbage’s).
• During inclement weather, maintaining the donation drop-off site with light shoveling & salt applications outside.
• As volunteer workers sign up to fill in the gap of “donation attendant” duties, the scheduled store Donation Associate will pivot to alternative donation processing area needs, which may include electronics, multimedia, E-commerce, Research, etc.
• Maintain processing operations and assist volunteers, as needed, as a guide in a supervisory mentoring capacity.
• Operation of Point of Sales (POS) software to support fellow sales associates and volunteers.
• Supports and participates in day-to-day operations: processing donations, pricing, identifying Ecommerce products and providing excellent services to both customers and donors.
• Participates in weekend rotations (1-2 times per month).
• SSRCH-provided education and employee meetings.
• Assist in needs in any capacity with other duties as assigned by the RRS Manager.

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Retail, business, or hospitality customer experience knowledge preferred
• Prefer previous experiences: working along-side volunteers, retail, or customer services environment

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Physical Requirements: Manual dexterity to operate computer and other office equipment. Must have the ability to ambulate on a frequent basis, constant bending, lifting, twisting, pushing, and pulling. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, necessity for mobility on your feet and capable of exerting repetitive body movements including bending and lifting

• Mental Requirements: Read, speak, write, and understand English. Must be able to function independently without supervision.
• Working/Environmental Conditions: Fast-paced changing environment, with multiple directives.
• Machines, Equipment, Tools Used: Automobile, telephone, copy machine and computer.
• Personal Protective Equipment Required: Assorted gloves; assorted masks, utility gloves; protective eyewear.
