GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The general purpose of this position is to apply solvent based paints to the exterior of pipes. Must ensure that all company guidelines are met and that all safety rules are followed when performing duties. In addition, must be able to read and interpret work orders in compliance with customer specifications.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Interpret and follow job work orders to perform required paint or coating specifications on column pipe.

• Coordinate and complete paint jobs in an efficient manner and within assigned hours.

• Notify supervisor of any materials and/or equipment required to ensure completion of job tasks.

• Ensure CPF and customer quality assurance standards are met.

• Follow all PPE requirements as per coating label on container.

• Use proper methods and techniques for clean-up and disposal of paint brushes and rollers.

• Adhere to all safety rules, responsible for keeping work area clean and comply with all safety policies and procedures.

• Interact with coworkers in a team environment, as well as with supervisor.

• Carry out any other duties and responsibilities that the supervisor may assign as needed.

• Standing in elements for long periods of time to paint column pipe.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

• Ability to learn function specific operational details and demonstrate the knowledge learned.

• Ability to learn, follow and perform required recordkeeping of CPF Quality policies and procedures for production, while being Quality minded with attention to detail.

• Must be able to work with others, as some tasks require two or more individuals.

• Must be able to work without constant supervision. 

• Must be able to comprehend equipment manuals, information regarding hazardous chemicals and all equipment instruction, and safety warning signs.

• Must be able to wear and care for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including but not limited to steel toed boots, eye protection, gloves, and a face shield.

• Must be able to work in hot/cold weather environment conditions, work safely around heavy equipment.

• Ability to work overtime as needed, including weekends when necessary.

• Required standing for an entire eight (8) hour shift, bending, twisting, and liftingup to 50 Lbs.

• One year of related work experience preferred but not required.
