ESSENTIAL FUNCTION

The primary purpose of this position is to assist with the flow and process of incoming and outgoing shipments. Assisting with the overall production of the warehouse in accordance with production and shipping / receiving needs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Responsible for contacting freight, carrying, and scheduling inbound / outbound orders, attending meetings, and acquiring quotes.
• Assist with unloading incoming freight and matching all paperwork for accuracy.
• Handle incoming and outgoing UPS and FedEx shipments.
• Maintain Supplies and Inventory in accordance with company needs.
• Accurately fulfilling customer orders and loads safely and efficiently as needed.
• Assist in scheduling pickups for trash / recyclables / corrugated, scrap drums, totes, and pallets.
• Accurately pack and ship sample requests with appropriate carrier providers.
• Communicate with Vendors and internal customer service departments as needed.
• Conduct daily warehouse pre-op checks
• Perform various tasks in the ERP system.
• Ensure all documents for receiving and shipping items are accurately and efficiently completed in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL / SKILLS NEEDED :

• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with customers, truck drivers, and vendors.
• Experience in HAZMAT requirements with domestic and international shipments a plus.
• Understanding of the SDS database & GHS label requirements is preferred.
• Experience working in a warehouse environment.
• Experienced in handling UPS, FedEx, and other types of shipping.
• Experience with inventory control is a plus.
• Familiarity with ERP systems is preferred.
• Knowledge of Safe Quality Food (SQF) certification is preferred.
• Current or prior forklift certifications / experience preferred.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced, multi-functional, and multitasked inventory environment.
• Must be able to do basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, measurements, weighing objects, and operation of a calculator or keypad device.
• Must be able to understand the conversion of weights with given formulas
• English comprehension including speaking, reading, and writing is required for our business's necessityto ensurea safe and effective work environment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Requires high school education (or equivalent).
• Vocational, career, or related technical studies, specifically business field / / computer knowledge a plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

• May require the employee to frequently lift and / or carry up to thirty (30) pounds
• May be required to infrequently lift up to fifty (50) pounds
• Required to stand, sit, or walk for an entire shift
• Requires frequent pushing and pulling up to fifty (50) pounds
• Requires infrequent repetitive motion
• Requires bending, twisting, stooping, and squatting
• Must be able to work in various indoor temperatures including elevated heat, humidity, and cold
• Infrequently exposed to elevated noise levels which occur below OSHA thresholds
• Exposure to various spices and food manufacturing smells throughout a work shift.
• Requires frequent visual quality control observations
• Ability to climb up and down a step stool latter
• Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment PPE
• Required to follow Good Manufacturing Practices GMPs
• Exposure to food allergens such as, but not limited to, milk eggs, tree nuts, wheat, and soybeans will occur.
