Shaloh House Jewish Day School is Hiring an English Teacher Near Brighton, MA

Who We Are

Located in Brighton, MA, Private Jewish Day School (K-6th grade), offers a unique educational experience. Our teachers are subject-specific experts; beginning in first grade, the students are taught by different, highly-trained educators in math, science, English, Hebrew, and Judaic. Our elementary school graduates go on to local public schools, private and religious schools, as well as Boston’s exam schools. We are proud of our 100% placement rate at Boston Latin School, ranked the top public high school in Massachusetts.

We’re searching for a knowledgeable, engaging and motivated teacher to teach both English Language Arts and Social Studies/History 3rd-6th grades.

Who You Are

· You have teaching experience and Educator License for grades 1st-5th or able to obtain one

· You have ability and willingness to obtain an ESL or SEI license during the school year (having the licenses already is a great plus)

· You have experience in following a school curriculum and enhancing it with your ideas.

· You challenge and engage students and keep discipline in a friendly way.

· You’re appreciate the environment that a small, independent school offers to students for learning and personal growth.

What You’ll Do

· Teach Language Arts and Social Studies to 3rd-6th grades.

· Supervise afterschool homework from 3 pm to 5 pm. (Monday-Thursday)

· Develop your own syllabus based on the school curriculum and expectations.

· Provide clear communication to parents on requirements and student progress.

· Participate in all required school professional development activities and school-wide events.

· Provide substitute coverage when needed.

· Perform lunch and recess duty for your assigned class/grade level.

Salary Range:

About 30-40 hours per week. (11 am – 5 pm)

$30-$35 per hour, commensurate with experience. Our school also offers PTO, a 401K, and medical insurance.
