The Activity Department is responsible for providing a comprehensive program to meet the physical and mental well-being of our residents.

Overview:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Activity Assistant to join our team. As an Activity Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents by planning and organizing engaging activities. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of seniors in our assisted living community.

Duties:

- Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing a variety of recreational activities for residents

- Create and maintain an activity calendar that offers a diverse range of programs

- Lead group activities such as games, crafts, exercise classes, and outings

- Provide one-on-one support and companionship to residents who may require additional assistance

- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure the well-being and safety of residents during activities

- Document resident participation and progress in activity programs

- Assist with setting up and cleaning activity areas

Requirements:

- Excellent schedule management skills to effectively plan and coordinate activities

- Strong communication skills to interact with residents, families, and staff members

- Genuine care and empathy for seniors, with a focus on providing person-centered care

- Knowledge or experience in dementia care and memory care techniques is preferred

- Familiarity with aging issues counseling and recreational therapy is a plus

- Prior experience in senior care or assisted living is desirable
