Due to the relocation of our long-time front desk associate we are in need of 1-2 new team members at our West Des Moines location!

Shaggy to Chic Boutique is a small, family-owned dog grooming salon and retail store. Our ideal candidate is looking to work between 2-5 days Monday through Friday, 10 am to 6pm, and can cover a weekend day occasionally. They would be a self-starter with a creative side; someone who like to decorate (cakes, cookies and our chalkboards) and try new pet products. If you love dogs and working with people who also love dogs, this could be the right job for you!

Job Summary

• Greet customers, whether dropping off or picking up pets
• Answer phones, which will include answering questions about retail products/grooming and communicating with groom/bathing staff.
• Scheduling grooming dogs using our computer software
• Check out customers using cash register and credit card machine.
• Clean the front lobby area, the front desk and retail areas.
• Opening and Closing procedures per checklists
• Sales of products, stocking bakery case and basic décor of cakes and treats

Qualifications

• Demonstrate pleasant personality capable of working in a team environment.
• Customer service skills, including written and oral communication.
• Ability to lift small dogs safely in and out of crates and walk dogs in and out of crates in a controlled manner.
• Punctuality and attendance are essential.
• Computer skills to check out clients.
• Independently prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks within established time frames.
• Ability to decorate and personalize cakes and treats

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $12.00 per hour
