Shady Side Academy's Lower Schools are seeking substitute teachers to support our classroom teachers when there are absences.

Substitute Responsibilities will include:

* Will use lesson plans to instruct students in grades Pre-K through 5th grade in a variety of subject areas.

* Working as a part of a team; extra duties include recess, lunch and carpool duties

* Being an integral part of a caring community of learners

A successful candidate will have:

* A depth of knowledge and understanding of young children

* A passion for working with young children

* Sensitivity to diverse communities of learners and an appreciation of developmental differences in an elementary school setting

* A knowledge of 21stCentury Skills and how they relate to classroom teaching

Qualifications

A bachelor's degree is required. Ideal candidates will have experience working with grade school aged kids, a flexible and team-oriented approach, excellent written and oral communication skills, exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, superior interpersonal skills, and a sense of humor.

Compensation

* Day to Day Substitutes are paid $125 per day.

* Lunch is included when school is in session.
