SHADES of Development is Hiring an Assistant Director After School Program at Fort Sanders PreK Near Knoxville, TN

SHADES of Development is a non-profit afterschool program that provides learning-based educational programming. We operate in ten schools across Knox County. This position is for Assistant Site Director of the SHADES Afterschool Programs at Fort Sanders PreK. A SHADES of Development Assistant Site Director is integral to the functioning of each SHADES of Development programming site. In order to maintain the highest quality program, the Assistant Site Director must be knowledgeable and demonstrate excellent communication, organization, and creative thinking skills. This posting outlines the key responsibilities of an Assistant Site Director; however, responsibilities are not limited to this list.

Qualifications:

 Bachelor’s Degree or higher (Child Development, Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, School Psychology, Social Work or other qualifying child/education related degree preferred).

 Leadership experience  Ability to assist in providing a safe, nurturing, developmentally appropriate afterschool program

 Understanding of child development and developmentally appropriate practices in afterschool settings

 Ability to supervise and coach staff

 Ability to handle difficult children and parents

 Ability to maintain and monitor the program in the Director’s absence

 Ability to build and maintain relationships with parents and school personnel  Computer literacy with experience using Word, Excel, Outlook, and Google applications

Hours and Compensation:

 Part-time, hourly position. Starting salary range based on experience and education ($16.50-$20.00 per hour).

 Typical working hours would be from 12:00pm – 6:00pm Monday – Friday, or as needed by the director.

 Paid Time Off (PTO) based a progressive years-of-service schedule

Pay: $16.50 - $20.00 per hour
