SGSS has a great opportunity for a full-time junior software engineer to be part of a team developing next generation satellite command and control system suitable for a cloud environment. Our engineers are specialists who apply their knowledge of software, operating systems, networks, databases, architectures, and tools to improve the maintainability and operability of software systems. The successful candidate will have software engineering/development experience, knowledge of C/C or other programming languages, and computer science principles.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop software using C/C /Golang in a RHEL Linux environment
• Design and implement software for large-scale command and control systems
• Apply agile development practices and techniques to adapt rapidly to changing requirements and schedules

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be US citizen
• Must have or be able to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance
• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field of study and minimum one year related work experience
  • Will consider a combination of formal education and work experience in lieu of degree
  • Also accepting applications for 2023 graduates
• Proficiency developing and testing software in a Linux environment
• Proficiency with a high level languages (i.e., C, C , Java, Python, Golang)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Microservices architecture
• Container technologies (Kubernetes/Docker/Podman)
• Virtualization and cloud technologies (examples: AWS, OpenStack, VMware, RHEV, etc)
• Web technologies (examples: HTML, CSS, React, REST, JSON, WildFly, etc)
• Writing scripts (examples: shell scripting, python, PERL, etc.)
• Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
• Software configuration management tools (examples: git, BitBucket, Jira, etc.)
