SGMC is Hiring a CHAPLAIN Near Valdosta, GA
- The incumbent shall provide Pastoral Care Services to a wide range of persons of diverse religious and cultural backgrounds. The incumbent shall be responsible for: providing spiritual care to patients, family members and hospital staff, working with staff, patients, and families to provide pastoral crisis intervention in crisis situations; conducting religious services as requested; providing pastoral counsel to patients, their families and hospital staff. This Position requires some night and weekend on-call coverage on a rotating basis.
- KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Graduate of a seminary, school of theology, or other approved ministerial training program.
- One unit of Clinical Pastoral Education preferred.
- Commissioned through a recognized religious organization to serve as a chaplain.
- Minimum of two years of organized religious leadership experience.
- Able to relate to and work effectively with persons of diverse religious and cultural backgrounds.
- Able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Able to work efficiently and effectively in stressful situations.
- Prefer previous experience as a hospital/hospice chaplain.
