SF Demo - FMR LLC is Hiring a Principal Quality Assurance Engineer Near Durham, NC

Job Description:

Position Description:

Investigates, isolates, and resolves technical issues across the full technology stack using automated and manual testing methodologies. Tests the next generation mobile solutions for use across iOS Native Automation applications using XCUI suite. Designs, writes, develops, implements, and maintains automated test cases. Integrates test automation into pipelines using Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI/CD) tools – GitHub, Azure, Jenkins, and uDeploy. Tests engineering applications and Web Services – GraphQL Subgraphs (APIs). Assures that projects meet quality standards by providing technical guidance in planning, designing, and executing testing and developing procedures relating to product quality on complex projects.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Performs code reviews and formal reviews of application designs, business, and functional requirements.
  • Reviews reports on software problems.
  • Defines and implements quality process improvements focused on defect prevention.
  • Ensures test environment reflects business requirements for test execution.
  • Assists in development of in-house test tools.
  • Executes manual and/or automated test scripts for most complex projects.
  • Coordinates test schedules, work assignments, and resource plans.
  • Ensures progress of all test activities against plan.
  • Ensures execution of project regression test tasks.
  • Mentors junior team members and provides technical guidance.
  • Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.
  • Responsible for meeting project goals on-time and on-budget.
  • Maintains status of project and monitors activities of team members.
  • Acts as a primary liaison for business units to resolve various project/technology issues.
  • Provides technical leadership on analysis, design, coding, testing, problem resolution, and planning.
  • Works directly with the user community for project definition.
  • Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
  • Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
  • Recommends strategies and methods to improve test plans and test processes.
  • Analyzes and reports overall test status and results.
  • Identifies and resolves test issues.
  • Defines and coordinates regression tests, and production verification and validation for future pro-jects.
  • Perform risk analysis at project management level.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Applied Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience as a Principal Quality Assurance Engineer (or closely related occupation) performing mobile iOS manual and automated test case development, execution, and maintenance.

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Applied Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Principal Quality Assurance Engineer (or closely related occupation) performing mobile iOS manual and automated test case development, execution, and maintenance.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) testing mobile applications, and designing and implementing solutions in iOS test automation environments for enterprise level iOS mobile applications, using Swift, XCTest, XCUITest, Xcode, and Git; writing and maintaining automation scripts using XCTest/XCUITest frameworks; facilitating CI/CD pipeline jobs to ensure build quality in Quality Assurance (QA) environments using Jenkins, Azure, Bash, and Python; and validating application functionality in iOS (mobile phones and Tablets) using Apple Xcode.
  • DE developing QA automation for APIs developed on GraphQL, using Cypress, Node.js, Javascript, VSCode, and Jenkins; and performing QA automation of digital platforms using Cypress, Javascript, and Java within a brokerage, financial services, or healthcare environment.
  • DE performing manual testing of native mobile iOS applications to ensure a positive user experience, using physical devices and emulators; performing manual testing on experience APIs that are developed to retrieve data from back-end systems, and integrating them with customer facing applications using GraphQL within an Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud environment.
  • DE designing, developing, QA testing, and performing test automation and production rollout of high-scale, secure, customer-facing applications according to Agile methodologies, using Enterprise Jira Xray, Jenkins, Azure, uDeploy, and Splunk.
